PA Heat

Well it's been a while since i have updated. I guess the last time was at collegiate nats. I went home after Nats and took a lot of time off. I mean a lot! I took 8 days totally off of the bike. The original plan was about 4 or 5, but i still was having trouble with some stomach issues so the time got extended. I hope that that time off will carry me through the rest of the season. It should! Hopefully it wasn't too much time off. Anyway, i made it to the team house on Friday night at about 11:30 PM. Woke up the next morning to find out that there was a crit in Bound Brook that day. Went aheah and did it because i think i need as much racing in the legs as possible to get back into things. It was an ok crit. Swain got in the early break and held on for Fourth, not bad! It has been really HOT for the past couple of days that's for sure!!!

Today was the Somerville Crit, another super hot day. We didn't have anyone in the points or money. It was a good race with a couple of big teams. Got to see Guptill, he looks like he's riding well still. Next race is in Richmond VA (CapTech), Then Lancaster and then Reading. It should be good.

2nd in Kansas

Today was the Crit for the finish of the Collegiate national championships. Both guys and girls squads did good today in the crit. We ended up taking 2nd overall as a team to UC Davis.

Yesterdays RR wasn't to bad. I ended up 10th by just hanging on from a long day in a break. I just couldn't hold on to the break. Here is a pic of the finish, compliments of Dicky Dub.

Heading home tomorrow, becuase the days events went a little longer than planned. That will work out better because i wouldn't get in tonight until super late. If i leave early in the morning i should be home around 2 or 3 pm.

TTT

Today started off the first leg of the Road Nats. It started off well this morning with a great ride by the girls team, coming in 3rd in the TTT. The guys team went of about an hour after them and it went really well too. We came through the first leg of the course tied with CU on time. We finished up 30 seconds ahead to take the win. Well, at least i think that was the gap. Final results haven't been posted yet.

The team rode great together. It is amazing how much fun a ttt can be when the team is firing. We are currently tied with UC Davis for first in the overall. There women won today and the guys were third. I hope we do really well in the road race and crit in the next couple of days to take the overall title. The road course is composed of big rollers and some stiff winds, on a 28 mile lap. I think we do three. I wonder how Guptill is doing in Arkansas?

Stage One

Stage one is complete of our journey to Kansas. We ran into some snow going over Wolf Creek yesterday and just tagged onto the end of the construction group that they were letting through, so we didn't have to wait for that. They have been doing construction on Wolf Creek for a long time now, and there is about a 45min wait because they have people flagging, only letting one side of traffic through at one time. So it was great to get through without stopping.

Chris and I are staying at Amanda's house in C-Springs and we woke up to snow this morning. I guess this is typical Colorado weather. It looks like it should be a nice day though. We are just drinking coffee and waiting for the school caravan to come through to jump on that. They were supposed to leave a 6:30 AM, but i doubt that happened. So there is plenty of time to drink more coffee and maybe take a nap.

Looks like the CapTech race in VA is moved back to the 1st of june, that will give me a few extra needed days at home. I'll try to get an update in tonight if anything interesting happens on the road.

Back in D-Town

Made it back last night pretty late after the yesterdays stage. It was 106 miles and had some serious climbing in it. I want to give a huge Congrats to Guptill for a 6th place finish on the stage yesterday and a 14th GC. That is an awsome result.

As for myself, I was disapointed in the overall performance at Gila. I was hoping to put in a good result. The legs just weren't there. I put in the miles, but things just didn't come together. Our team director is not very happy either. I feel really bad. There are a lot more races though, and tough races only make you tougher. Maybe the team can come up with some good results soon.

Kuhl and I head out tomorrow for Kansas, with a nights stop in Colorado Springs and then finish up the trip on Wed. to Lawrence, with the FLC team. After Nats I'm going directly home to see Loren and the rest of the Fam. I wish i was there right now!!

Gila

Well, this was the second day at the Tour of Gila. Yesterdays TT was sub par. I was hoping to do a little better. Today was the famous Mogillon Mountian top finish. I didn't really feel that great for the entire stage. Dave Wiswell and Guy East did some great work getting bottles and anything else today. Props to them. It was sweet today to have a car in the caravan though. Josh and Crawford combined forces and knocked out feeding 3 different teams from the same car. Props to them too. It's nice having Josh here taking care of us and he's doing a good job too.

Maybe tomorrows stage will go a little better. That climb today is just a little too steep for me, I think. At least thats what i'm going to say. I think that Guptill killed it today. That's good for him. Maybe he can pull out a top 10 by the last day.
