Long Day

Sure was a long day today. I was non stop from 8-5 with no ride. That sucks! I rode yesterday so that i could take today off. I plan to hit it hard tomorrow up Elkhorn one last time before Cali. Looks like we are getting some well needed rain right now. Hopefully the weather holds up for tomorrows effort. Everthing is looking good for Cali.

Today i got a piece of mail that was supposed to come to me last spring that was sitting in Snyders car for almost a year. Funny how things like that happen huh. Pray for sun!

Beautifull

Dropped down to Bread yesterday morning and had a little group head up to the Tex Center for some hot laps on the old crit course. It was fun to start taking some corners a little hotter than normal. After about an hour of that Guptill and I head out the Valley. He pealed off at the half to get the time trial bike and i kept going to climb Elkhorn. That is a tough climb. I think it will be good training for the Tollhouse tt in Fresno. They are almost exactly the same from what the course descriptions say.

We leave for Cali in 3 days. How sweet is that!! It looks like the weather in Cali is nice, not really. It looks like it is raining every day. That's ok. I will still be nice. I can't waite to get out of Durango for a little while. Get outside and enjoy the weather today, it is amazing.

Good Day

The ride today was really good. There was a good group that rolled out of Bread this morning. I would have to say that there were about 25-30 that started this morning. We had a few of the local big dogs show up. Todd, Colby, Ned ect.. I was good to see such a big group. It had to be the great weather. Hopefully we'll have a good group for tomorrow too.

Looks like the MTB trails are still pretty messy. The other two monkeys in the Apartment did a mountain bike ride today and their bikes look like they wiegh fifty pounds with the mud caked on them. If we keep having this type of weather, the trails should be good real soon.

Sunshine

The weather was 100% perfect today. I would have to say that it was close to 60 degrees today without a cloud in the sky. It looks like the next couple of days are only going to get better. The warmer weather should attract a few more participants in the training race tomorrow. I'm going to make it a short one today. Yours Truly...

Dunny Wars

Well, bright and early this morning we had our tragic clogging of our second toilet in the Apt. This one is due to Mr. Kuhl. So both toilets in the apt stayed clogged for a couple of hours and Kuhl came up with a weird devise to unclog the two dunnies. He got r done though. We are back in action baby. Enough of that! Just a normal day with class and a late ride in the valley. It is great, it isn't getting dark until around 6:30 now. Before you know it the clocks will be springing foreward. I can't waite. Tomorrow's Friday, Yes!! Yours Truly...

Midterm

Did some serious studying for my ES 480 midterm. I got up early and was over to school at 7:30 to start taking the test early. It's a good thing to because it took the entire time to get done. I can't beleive it is already midterm. Did some good motor pacing with Guptill. Man did that hurt. Big thanks to him for taking the time out to pace me on his day off. A little 1145 update. Snyder and Troy's toilet has been clogged for the past week and they have to use mine and Kuhls bathroom. That sucks. I was woken up in the middle of the night by what i thought was a BEAR ATTACK, but it was just a bear pee break. Somehow our only plunger in the place got thrown out about a month ago. I don't know who is clogging it, but i'm pretty sure it's Snyder, so Troy says. Oh well...Yours Truly..

LeeRo

I'm sure most people have heard the news, but LeeRo is looking pretty good. Yesterday we had our usual weekend training race. Got done with the race and Lee, Chris, Jared and myself thought we would do a little more riding so we headed out the valley. Lee wanted to get one more sprint in so we decided to sprint for the RGP's sprint on the gunbarrel of the valley. It was just me and Lee sprinting to i though that i would jump him early and surprise him. I got to the line and sat up to look back and see Lee going over the bars. He was absolutly flying up behind and didn't really realize the finish was over. He hit my rear wheel and tried to correct it and did a little to much. He slid for probably 30 meters. It was a very scary moment for all when he was laying on the ground. Got him to the hospital to find out that he has a broken collar bone and need surgery on his hand. He hit his head really hard. His helmet is cracked and shredded. It's a good thing he had it on or he might not be with us today. Hopefully Lee will have a fast recovery and be back in it in no time.

Less than two weeks to Cali. Time is flying by. Everyone here is looking good. Andy and Chris seem to be in good form. Some good motor pacing and a few more efforts on the weekend and hopefully things will really come together. Tour of Cali is looking pretty sweet. Juan is lighting it up. Working on getting all of the school work taken care of before the trip. I can't waite. I have to mail Loren her tickets tomorrow.

Got some fairly good efforts in today. I went out with the intents of taking is easy for a 3 hour ride, but somehow ended up going hard up shalona and doing a couple of sprints. I think the more i can get the better. I'm still not getting the heartrate levels that i should be or the power, but hopefully that will come. Alright that is enough for now, sorry for the long post. Yours Truly.

Its been a while

Time is flying. Had a pretty rough week. I haven't been feeling to well in body and mind. I don't know what was wrong with me, but i think I'm coming out of it. I thought about updating, but didn't even want to. Hopefully all of the colds are out of the system for a while. Looks like there is going to be another training race tomorrow at 10 so maybe the weather will hold up to run it. I feel like i'm behind in the training. We race in 2 weeks. I can't waite, but i want it to be good. Hopefully some good efforts this week will get me into some sort of race shape. Caleb Fairly place 17th in the opening time trial at the valley of the sun. Good luck to him for the rest of the weekend. Not much else is going on. Pray for good weather. Yours Truly...

She's Alive!!

Loren Lost in the Mountains?

Just got a call from Loren's mom wondering if she had called me today. My answer was no and she said that she had gone up in the mountain to play in the snow. There not home yet and it is 9 o'clock. Hopefully she's alright. Kuhl and I have been working on a new site most of the day, mainly Kuhl. We couldn't really figure anything good out so i think i'm going to stick with what i've got. Did a really easy valley today to let the legs recover. I think me and Chris are going to hit it again tomorrow. One last week of Transition, then it's time to race. Oh i almost forgot. Here is the quote of the week which comes from Juan Pablo during the training race on Saterday. It went something like this, "Juan how you feelin?" Juan, "My Legs Are Burning" with a Juan accent. It was good. Maybe Loren will call and let me know she's ok or maybe not? Yours Truly...

Cold!!

Man, was it cold today! Left the place at 10:00am and the temp was 10 degrees. Got back to the place at 3 and the temp was only 35degrees. Todays ride was pretty good. There was a group down at bread to do some efforts to get resdy for Valley of the Sun next weekend. There were probably about 15 people that started out with us. It felt pretty good to get some efforts in today. There is still a lot of work to be done. Hopefully the form will come around for the races in Cali. Looks like the weather is going to get a little better by tomorrow. Should be a nice and easy day to get the recover on. Kuhl picked up the new blender today since our last one burned up. It's hard to go without the smoothie bombs. Sounds like Todd is getting his tan on down in Tucson. Must be nice. Maybe we'll see him at McClain. Yours Truly...

Big day tomorrow

Looks like we are going to hit it hard tomorrow. It's time to start doing some efforts to get ready for the races in Cali. Last i checked the high is only supposed to be 35 degrees tomorrow. We may have to head south. Checked out the Jamis tt bike and looks like some serious modifications are needed. As soon as i sell this mountain bike I'll start making those modifications. Loren and I are having a hard time figuring out a good time for her to fly into Cali. It will all work out. I've been working on another site that would be jjhayes.wordpress.com. It's a lot different then this blog so it may take a while to get it all set up. Until then i'll keep updating on this site. That's about it for now. Yours Truly...

Truck n through Trany

Man, the weeks are flying by. Did an Aztec with Kuhl and man did that hurt. We kept it constant the whole time. My legs were hurtin really bad by the time we got to La Posta. Got back just in time to get a bomb in and then it was off to class for 2 hours. I think sitting there in class from 4:40 to 6:40 hurt almost as bad as the ride did. Today consisted of school and a really slow half valley and a town loop. I think tomorrow will be another Aztec. I don't have any class tomorrow. Typically on Fridays i only have one class and that one was cancelled. I finally put the old mountain bike online today to get some money for a TTbike. I can't waite to start doing some efforts on a ttbike. 3 weeks till Merced, it's gonna be good. Hopefully we can get some FLC intersquad racing going next weekend to get the legs firing. Maybe I'll talk to Dave about that at Bread this weekend. On a better 1145 note, we finally got that ceiling fan that has been promissed to us since May. I didn't wittness the installation but it sounds like the guy that put it up were rough. We finally have some light in the living room to actually read what we are studying. How about the weather? You can't ask for much better in early Feb. I think its supposed to start getting a little cooler though. It was good while it lasted. Alright I'm just rambling, Yours Truly...

Day off

Took the day off today. The first week of transition was a little draining. I have to say that the first week of trany went really well. Hopefully the rest of it will be good. There isn't much to report. The super bowl wasn't too bad. Worked on my methodology for the research and desighn the whole time. The Bear set the RGP's record today. He ate 5 wraps in 32 minutes. That is amazing. For those that have not experienced RGPs, the wraps are spectacular. I can't believe the crazy animal ate that many. I guess he needs to put on his winter layer. Next week he has to eat 3 burgers at burger night with the 5 wraps. We'll see. Looks like the weather is going to be great for the next couple of days. Enjoy. Yours Truly...

Wind

Where to start. Got in a good Transition ride on friday afternoon. Had a tail wind coming back through the valley so that is always nice. Did the RGP's pizza on Friday night. Big thanks to Chris. It was fantastic like usual. We all had some pizza and then stepped outside of the door of the mall just in time to watch the parade go by. The parade lasted a lot longer than I had expected it to. Chopps and Kuhl were having more fun in the mall trying to catch the gold fish in the little aquarium in the mall. Chopps caught one and started to bring it outside, but figured out that he might not want to do that. Got home around 8 and was in bed by 10:30. Did the ride thing at bread with the group. Headed out the valley and just kicked it on in. Not much went on Saterday night. Just watched a movie and it was another early night. Today was another on day for transition and headed out the valley to go up to Purg. It was extremly windy today. It was a head wind out the valley and up the climb the entire way. The great thing about that is the smokin fast tail wind coming back. How about Sheryle and Lance? Last i heard he was after he was after Loren. I found a pic of Lance and Loren from the Tour De Georgia. True story about the pic. Looks like Loren will be flying into Fresno on Friday. I can't waite to see her. Everyone should have some good times in Cali. Saw that Saul won todays stage in Malaysia. Good luck to him in the next couple of days. Well i know there is a lot more to report but i can't think of anything else. Yours Truly...

Friday

Can't waite until Friday. Still yet another week of to many assignments for school. Whatever I don't even want to think about school this weekend. Snow down it going down right now as we speak. Parade is tommorow, that is usually fun to see all the drunk people running around. I think there are going to be a few running around from 1145. We have a few Winos in the Apt. Troy and Snyder have polished off 2 bottles of wine in one night between them. Hopefully they will be up to par for tomorrow night. Looks like I will be driving these guys around tomorrow night. The bear has some work to do to get his stamina back up. He looks like he's about to bonk. Stay tooned, i'm sure there will be plenty to update about for the next day or 2. Yours Truely...

Even warmer

Today's weather was 100% perfect for some good road riding. Mr.Kuhl and I went up to Purg for a good day of transition. Today was the first real day of Trany. It felt good and hurt at the same time. I don't know how that works but that's how it felt. Coming down from Purg was the worst. I was trying to keep the cadence up and the heart rate. After that we did a hermosa and then called it. I can't beleive it's already Feb. 1st. That is crazy. I can't waite to start watching coverage of Mylasia and then Tour of Cali. Looks like Bowman is starting up the racing over in France. How about Boonen? 4 in a row. That's not right! Poor Zabel needs to do races without Boonen in them so he can win one. Well it's time to get some rest. Yours Truely...
